The Benefits of Pilates

Pilates is an effective method of exercise that targets deep postural muscles and builds strength from the inside out, addressing muscle imbalances and bringing the body back into correct alignment.

Over a period of regular pilates practise you will learn to be in control of your body by improving your focus and body awareness. The results are a longer leaner shape, better posture, a strong back and increased mobility. Another fantastic advantage of this method is relief from stress and tension.

This form of exercise suits men & women, young & old and is for all abilities. It is important however to join a class at a level that is most suitable for you, and for this a short pre-assessment with the instructor will be required. Please go to the contacts page to get in touch to arrange this before joining a class for the first time

Pilatitude's Teacher Qualifications

The Body Control Pilates Association (BCPA) is an international teacher training organisation widely known for its quality standard of pilates teachers. All BCPA members adhere to a strict code of practice to ensure the highest teaching standards and professional ethics. Also, membership is subject to participation in a continuous professional development program, which ensures that teachers are kept up to date with the latest medical research related to pilates and exercise in general.

Advertised classes are taught primarily by Victoria, who is a member of the BCPA & also the UK's Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs Level 3 Advanced Instructor). This is used as the basis by which GPs and other health professionals make patient referrals. In the event of Victoria's absence due to illness or holiday, any pilates teacher recruited to temporarily cover classes will be fully qualified to the same high standard.
